Exciting Update on Bloomington Veterans Memorial
We’re thrilled to announce that the future Bloomington Veterans Memorial will be built in a dedicated park space at Harrison Park, 1701 W. 100th Street, in partnership with the City of Bloomington. This peaceful setting also serves as a gateway to the Nine Mile Creek Corridor, offering a beautiful space for visitors.
Collaboration with the Nine Mile Creek project will streamline construction and provide cost savings, ensuring funds raised for the Memorial will offer the meaningful elements we have highlighted from the beginning. Donors will also be recognized on welcome signage within the Memorial.
After exploring other locations, we’ve determined that Harrison Park offers the best fit, with accessible parking and a serene atmosphere for reflection. We aim to complete the Memorial by Veterans Day, November 2026, in alignment with the Nine Mile Creek project.
We’re still accepting donations and veteran registrations to be listed on the Memorial. For more information view this page and/or email bloomingtonveteransmemorial@gmail.com. Thank you for your continued support!
The memorial will be designed to honor and recognize all veterans, to educate the public as to why these wars were fought and show why we should continue to honor these heroes for the freedoms we enjoy. It will be built on the grounds of the City of Bloomington Civic Plaza.
The cost of the memorial will be funded through contributions from local businesses, residents, and other interested parties. Bloomington Remembers Veteran’s Inc. is a non-profit registered 501(c)3 organization.
