Our Mission
The mission of the Bloomington Remembers Veterans is to design, build and maintain a memorial to all veterans and their families of past, present and future military conflicts.
Founded in 2018, Bloomington Remembers Veterans is a non-profit registered 501(c)3 organization committed to providing the citizens of Bloomington with a meaningful, lasting tribute that honors all service members who have served in any conflict involving the United States. We are staffed by an all-volunteer committee of dedicated community members, the majority of whom are former veterans from branches of the armed forces. Working in partnership with the City of Bloomington, we are charged with selecting a site and memorial design, privately fundraising for all donations to fund the memorial, and overseeing its ultimate construction. Our organization’s founding and vision for this project is the result of the City of Bloomington’s recent involvement as a Commemorative Partner in the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War.
