As a fellow veteran and Blooming City Council member I would like to share my support for the veterans memorial project. As one of the largest cities in the state, this memorial is long overdue and an important place making addition for the City of Bloomington.
I am very proud of the progress your organization has made and am grateful for the time and contributions of so many Bloomington veterans. The Leo A Daly design concept selected is a wonderful testament to not only the sacrifice of veterans but of military families. It is further demonstration of your organization’s support for all impacted by military service in times of both war and peace.
I believe this memorial will be a beautiful addition to the Bloomington Civic Plaza and a place not only for recognition, but of reflection. While my tenure on the Bloomington City Council is coming to an end, I will continue to support this project as a veteran and resident.
